NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 18: Uttar Pradesh Government has banned the use of mobile phones in colleges and universities in the state. As per a circular issued by the Directorate of Higher Education, the decision has been taken to ensure a 'better teaching environment for students across all colleges and universities in the state'.

Following the circular students and teachers will no longer be able to use their mobile phones inside universities and colleges.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already banned the use of mobile phones during his official meetings of the state government, including Cabinet meetings.

Reportedly, the decision was taken after some ministers and officers were found busy on their mobile phones during important meetings.
