UPSC Civil Services final result 2018 declared; 759 candidates shortlisted

New Delhi, April 6: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2018. According to the official result data, 759 candidates have been declared qualified in the exam. This final result has been declared based on candidates performance in the written exam held in September-October and the interviews for Personality Test held in February-March, 2019.

As per UPSC Civil Services result, out of the 759 selected candidates, 361 will be recruited from the General category, 209 from OBC category, 128 from SC category, and 61 candidates will be appointed from the ST category. The result data reflects that Kanishak Kataria has grabbed the All India Rank 1, followed by Akshat Jain, Junaid Ahmad and Shreyans Kumat have secured the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranks respectively. This means that all top 4 positions in the Civil Services Exam have been secured by male candidates. The All India Rank 5 has been secured by Srushti Jayant Deshmukh, who’s also the topper among female candidates. Out of the top 10 rankers of UPSC Civil Services Exam, 7 are male while 3 are female candidates.

Besides the 759 qualified candidates, the authority has also released a list of 109 candidates who have been shortlisted provisionally. Also, 106 candidates have been kept in the reserve list.

This year UPSC has announced a total of 814 vacancies to be filled across all cadres and departments through the Civil Services Exam. As per the category-wise breakup for each category, 414 vacancies will be filled in for General category, 209 for OBC, 128 for SC and 61 for ST category.

UPSC Civil Services Examination is held every year for the recruitment of candidates for IAS, IPS, IFS, Central Services Group A and Group B services.
