UPSC extends Civil Services application deadline by 1 day; now apply till March 19

NEW DELHI, MARCH 18: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the application deadline of Civil Services Examination 2019 by 1 day. According to an official announcement by UPSC officials, now candidates can fill the UPSC Civil Services application form 2019 till March 19, while earlier the deadline for application filling was March 18. Thus, candidates who have not filled the application form yet, must hurry up and apply for the exam before 6 pm on March 19, 2019.
To apply for Civil Services Exam, candidates have to visit the official website – https://upsconline.nic.in/mainmenu2.php and click on the application link. Apart from the extension in the last date of application filling, the authority has not made any other changes in any date related to any event of the exam. Thus, rest all the other dates remain the same as notified earlier.
Post the application filling, registered candidates can download their call letters for the prelims exam in the second week of May 2019, while the prelims examination will be held on June 2, 2019.
It must be noted that the application form of Civil Services Exam is filled in two parts – application form and detailed application form. Candidates, who would qualify in the prelims exam will be eligible to fill Civil Services detailed application form for appearing in the mains exam.
The admit card for the mains exam can be downloaded from September 2019, whereas the mains exam will be held on September 20, 2019. The result for this exam is expected to be out in December.
Post the mains exam, the candidates have to appear for a personality test, which is the last stage for selection of the candidates. After this stage of the recruitment exam, the final result will be announced in March/April 2020.
