NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 11: West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will commence 10th class exams from tomorrow i.e. February 12, 2019. The board is all prepared for the exams which will conclude on February 22, 2019. The exams will be conducted from 11:45 am to 3:00 pm. The first 15 minutes are allotted to read and analyze the question paper.
Beginning this year, the invigilators will not be allowed to carry cell phones to the examination hall. This move is aimed at preventing malpractices.
Last year, the headmaster of a high school in Jalpaiguri district was suspended for leaking the question papers. As a result the board has decided to stop invigilators from carrying the mobile phones inside the examination hall during the examination of 10th class.
Invigilators will have to submit their mobiles 30 minutes before the start of examination to the venue-in-charge. As per reports, disciplinary action, including suspension, will be taken against those violating the rule. However, the centre officer in charge, centre secretary, venue supervisor, venue in charge and additional venue supervisor will be allowed to use mobile phones.
