NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has released WBJEE 2020 result today i.e., August 7 at the official website wbjeeb.nic.in. A press conference was held after which the WBJEE 2020 result was declared online. Souradeep Das from Uttar Dinajpur has secured the first rank while Subham Ghosh from Paschim Burdwan and Sreemanti Dey from Kolkata has secured the second and third rank respectively in WBJEE 2020. WBJEE results can be checked by logging in using their application number and password. West Bengal Education Minister, Partha Chatterjee had announced earlier that the result of WBJEE 2020 will be declared today for all candidates who had attempted the entrance examination on February 2, 2020.

WBJEE 2020 result has been released by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) today i.e., August 7 through the candidate portal. The board also conducted a press conference for the declaration of result. Candidates can log into the portal using their credentials to check the result. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the online counselling.
WBJEEB will be announcing the counselling dates tentatively in the next week. A total of 116 institutes will be participating the admission process.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the counselling of WBJEE 2020 will be conducted completely in online mode. The board will be offering 34891 seats to eligible candidates in 116 participating institutes. Independent counselling will be held for WBJEE and JEE Main rank holders. For this session, WBJEE 2020 rank holders do not have to pay the counselling fee. Fresh registrations will be allowed for each round of WBJEE 2020 counselling. All of the uploaded documents will be checked by Virtual Reporting Centres.
Utsav Basu from Santragachi has secured the fourth rank in WBJEE 2020. Following Basu, Punendu Sen has bagged the fifth rank in the examination.
According to the authorities, a total of 73119 candidates appeared for the entrance examination. In the WBJEE 2020 results, 71% rank holders are from West Bengal, while 31% are from CBSE, and 3% are from ISC board.

WBJEEB has decided to fix a date to conduct the exams every year. WBJEE will now be held on the first Sunday of February every year. According to this, WBJEE 2021 will be conducted on February 7.

WBJEEB will be holding a press conference to declare WBJEE 2020 result. WBJEE 2020 was held on February 2 in 23 districts across the state and four in other states. Over a lakh students appeared for the entrance examination which was held as a OMR based test. Students had to attempt two papers - Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry). The provisional answer key was released at wbjee.nic.in on February 17.

According to Chatterjee, the authorities will conduct the counseling of WBJEE 2020 in online mode. Due to COVID-19, physical counselling will not be held and all of the WBJEE counselling procedures will be completed in online mode. Dates for the counselling session will be released soon.
