WUD witness thousands of students participate in the 2-day of CULT 2019

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 22: More than 4000 students participated in the two-day festival ‘CULT’ organized at World University of Design. Students from NIFT, Amity University, Jamia Milia Islamia University, Hansraj College, Kamla Nehru College, Gargi College, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSC) were amongst the 44 colleges and universities present to compete and showcase their talent in an array of creative competitions and contests.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, WUD, said “Popularity for CULT has been growing manifold. Festivals are a platform for students to show not only their creative side but also their organizational skills. Fests are an important part of university education. I am immensely proud of the efforts put into the event by the students and the overall success of CULT and its growing popularity amongst students”.
Some of the key activities that were outlined included Street Plays, Short movie making, Wall Art project, live fashion competition, live sketching, chal-ruk- stop motion animation, Tell with Tiles, paper shaper, street plays, group dance competition, wall-art, and so on. These competitions were an effort to inculcate team-spirit, organizational abilities and leadership qualities amongst the participating students. The day ended with cultural performances from artists including Asees Kaur, a popular Indian playback singer.
The trophy for the astonishing Fashion Show was bagged by the team of World University of Design. Shivaji College & DeenDayal Upadhyay College (DU)bagged the champions’ trophy in Group Dance Competition & the Battle of Bands. Moti Lal Nehru College (DU) & Maharshi University of Information Technology (MUIT) mesmerized the audience along with the judges and won the first prize in Street Play & Wall Art competition.
CULT - 2019 focused on how young minds come together to develop and integrate their college festival, an annual event, and become a part of the larger culture adding to the college heritage.
