NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Government is considering to reopen the schools from June 2020 in the non-containment zones. As per the reports, Maharashtra education department is all set to begin the academic session for the schools in Maharashtra from June 15, 2020. However, the schools located in the Vidarbha region will start on June 26, 2020. The schools will open virtually if the lockdown will continue in the state.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Tuesday, had instructed the state education department regarding the virtual reopening of schools. Thackeray also directed to take necessary precautions such as regular health check-ups of students and staff, using sanitizers in the premises before the reopening of the schools.

All the schools of Maharashtra state were closed in the last week of March 2020 due to the outbreak of COVID-19. For the continuation of studies, the Education department has made all the state board textbooks for class 1 to 10 free to download on the Balbharti website. The course books and other study material are also available to download on Diksha mobile app.
