NEW DELHI, JUNE 20: World University of Design (WUD) has decided to collaborate with Adobe to launch ‘Adobe Digital Technology Academy’ at its campus. The academy is intended to promote a culture of innovation on campus by imparting new age digital creativity skills to the students. It aims to enhance the employability prospects of students as per the demands of the industry.

This is in line with our vision of collaborating with the best in the world for providing unique learning and research capabilities to benefit not just our students and faculty but also the industry. I feel industry exposure is a quintessential part of design education and intends to provide abundant opportunities to all its students, across streams, to explore and experience the various nuances of this facet of education. The Digital era has signaled a significant change and transformation in the hiring needs of the employers creating a gap between industry requirements and academics. With industry automation, industry leaders are driving large-scale technological innovations globally using digital technology, thereby creating a need for students to get trained in Digital Skills. With the establishment of the Adobe Digital Technology Academy, WUD endeavors to build a generation of digitally proficient creative professional designers ready to meet the emerging demands of the industry,” said Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, WUD appreciating the efforts taken by Adobe.

The major focus of the program include, integration of digital tools into the curriculum of its various schools, practical hands-on training on Digital tools (Creative Cloud), development of Faculty expertise on emerging new digital platforms, guest lectures for students by Industry digital experts, and access to Adobe’s repository for content and global connect.

Around 500 students are considered to draw benefit from this collaboration every year. The project which is in sync with India’s Skill India and Digital India mission is designed by Adobe in consultation with industry stalwarts. The focus is on a live-environment leading to jobs or entrepreneurship through training the students on the practical aspect.

Moreover, WUD has announced a partnership with 6 International Universities across UK, Canada and France, including Universities of Huddersfield, Oxford Brookes and, West of Scotland in UK, Emily Carr University of Art & Design and Vancouver Film School in Canada and École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles (ENSAIT) in France. The MOUs is meant to provide international exposure and opportunities to the students across all the disciplines.
