NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has responded to Right to Information (RTI) application regarding the preponement of National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. As per the response to the RTI application by NMC, the NEET PG 2024 has been preponed due to RathYatra festival.

The NEET PG 2024 examination was initially scheduled for March 3, but was rescheduled to July 7 following several requests from prospective candidates. Subsequently, the NEET PG 2024 exam date was advanced to June 23, with no specific reason provided for the change in schedule.

Vivek Pandey posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) saying, “As per RTI reply by NMC, NEET PG 2024, originally set for 7 July. Then moved to June 23 due to the festival of RathYatra on 7 July 2024.”

Qualifying the NEET PG entrance examination is mandatory for admission to the country's MD, MS, or postgraduate diploma programs. As per the eam pattern, the NEET PG 2024 paper will carry a total of 800 marks. The examination will comprise 200 multiple-choice questions. As per the NEET PG 2024 marking scheme, candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.
