51.63% of students failed in the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) last year, revealed the data given by the Bar Council of India in response to an RTI query. A total of 1,44,014 students appeared for the exam of which 69,646 were declared pass while 74,368 failed.

Since the AIBE result was declared for only 93 questions instead of 100 last year, the exam authorities revised the AIBE passing marks criteria. As per the new criteria, AIBE 19 qualifying marks are 45% for general, OBC candidates and 40% for SC, ST. Earlier, it was 40% for general, OBC aspirants and 35% for SC, ST. 

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has removed the Bar Council of Delhi vice-chairman Sanjeev Nasiar over his 'questionable' LLB degree issued by Devi Ahilyabai Vishvavidyalaya. The decision was taken following an inquiry conducted by a sub-committee. The BCI has also urged the CBI to start a probe into the matter.

The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 19 exam 2024 was conducted on December 22, 2024. The Bar Council of India (BCI) held the exam to determine the eligibility of candidates aspiring to practice law in India.
