AICTE launches full-time Masters and PhD programmes for diploma faculty

NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman TG Sitharam has announced the launch of full-time ME, MTech, and PhD programmes for the upcoming academic year 2024-25. The full-time programme has been launched under the Quality Improvement Program (QIP).

The programme is open to full-time faculty members of AICTE-approved polytechnic institutes who wish to apply for the masters programme under the QIP scheme. Application form is available on the AICTE official website, aicte-india.org and the last date to register for the programme is June 20.

As per the eligibility criteria for masters programme, applicants should have at least one-year of teaching experience at the polytechnic level and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree. For admission to PhD programmes in engineering and management, applicants should have at least three years of teaching experience as full-time regular or permanent faculty members of AICTE approved degree or diploma level institutes and a relevant master’s degree.

"The programmes will enhance the skills and capabilities of faculty members in degree and diploma institutions across India. The effectiveness of teaching and technical education increases with these programmes under AICTE’s monitoring," TG Sitharam said during the launch event.

The council said that the applicants who are shortlisted for interview or test will be informed about further selection process by the QIP institute or department through the registered email address.

The QIP aims to improve the quality of teaching by enabling eligible teachers to attain advanced degrees and explore research opportunities in their respective fields of study. This initiative is expected to reflect positively on the educational environment across institutions, benefiting both faculty and students.
