AICTE warns students against fake 10-day MBA programmes

Universities will have to get AICTE approval for offering technical courses, including MBA.

NEW DELHI: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a notification warning all stakeholders to stay aware of the fake 10-day MBA programme courses. The AICTE stated that it has no policy for offering an MBA Programme of 10 days. The response comes after the expose of Vivek Bindra, a motivational speaker who has been running advertisements on a 10-day MBA programme.

The notification read, “It has come to the notice of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) that some motivational speaker and influencers are offering a 10-day MBA crash course. This is to inform all stakeholders that such crash course is an attempt to misguide the young minds of the county.”

Approval required from AICTE to run MBA programme

The notice further said that, as per Supreme Court's judgment, without AICTE clearance or approval, no institution or university is allowed to offer technical course(s), including MBA or management courses (leading to a PG degree).

An MBA is officially a two-year postgraduate degree programme designed to provide individuals with advanced skills and knowledge in various areas of business and management.

MBA programme course cannot be completed in 10 days

AICTE stated that a management programme such as MBA cannot be completed in just 10 days, the notice further said, “As claimed, the MBA programme course (In case leading to a degree) cannot be completed in 10 days. Therefore, it is to notify to all stakeholders that, the MBA crash course offered by such individuals/organisations are misleading and inappropriate. All stakeholders/ students are advised to be cautious and do not fall prey to such fraudulent offers.”
