AIIA, CCRAS hold interactive meet on research, capacity building of Ayush sector

Researchers and scientists participated in a collective brainstorming session and encouraged graduate and postgraduate research in Ayush colleges.

NEW DELHI: An interactive session on research and education in Ayush was conducted by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in collaboration with the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS). Researchers, scientists, heads of national institutes and research councils, advisors of AYUSH ministry, etc. attended the session. Five chief guests had been invited to the interactive meeting from various departments.

The aim of this interactive session was to carry out a collective brainstorming session on the expertise and experiences of individuals holding chair positions in different academic and research spaces. Further, the research environment at the graduate and postgraduate levels in Ayush colleges was also one of the focal points of discussion.

The chair positions have been appointed by the Ministry of Ayush and are appointed in the fields of interdisciplinary clinical research, public health and epidemiology, ayurveda biology and basic sciences, pharmaceutical drug development and consciousness and cognitive sciences.

Rajesh Kotecha, who is from the secretary ministry of Ayush, said: “Pandemic was the opportunity for Ayush to develop their science and Ayush did it by developing Ayush 64, etc. I would request the leaders to brainstorm and discuss how we can utilities Ayush science for our PG and PhD students which can help the country and the world,”.

To this, director general of CCRAS, Rabinarayan Acharya added: “During COVID time Ayush system has published more then 250 clinical studies, when we check Chinese system of medicines, they have only published 140 clinical studies.” Meanwhile, Tanuja Nesari, director of AIIA said, “This platform gives us an opportunity to create evidence-based Ayurveda creating disciplinary model and integration.”
