A day before the INI CET 2025, aspirants intensified demands for postponement of exam citing disruption of transportation owing to India-Pakistan tensions. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences will conduct the Institute of National Important Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) 2025 on May 17 for admission to a total of 872 programmes including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh).

In a letter to union health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, the Doctors Welfare Federation argued that the affected candidates may face serious challenges in reaching their designated examination centres.

“Due to the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict, several vital transportation routes have been severely disrupted. Multiple airports have been temporarily shut down, several trains have been cancelled or diverted, and numerous flights are facing delays or cancellations. These unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances are causing immense distress, particularly to candidates from the affected regions, who may face serious challenges in reaching their designated examination centres safely and on time,” the doctors’ association stated.

In light of these issues, DWF urged the minister to reschedule AIIMS INI CET 2025 for a later date. “This would help ensure a fair, safe, and equitable opportunity for all aspirants to appear for the exam without undue hardship,” it said.

INI CET 2025: Doctors condemn authorities

Sharing their ordeal and expressing disappointment over the issue, several candidates took to social media, condemning the exam authorities. A doctor said in a post on X, “Sad to know how irresponsible AIIMS New Delhi is. They didn't even respond. Thousands of doctors ask for postpone of INI CET 2025 but they didn't flinch at all. Sad for border state and army background students. They pay the cost of serving the nation.”

In a sarcastic manner, another doctor wrote, “INICET EXAM has now become an international issue and not a national one. There was a discussion between the officials of both the countries on this issue that the war should be postponed but the exam should not be postponed.”
