Allahabad University introduces new rules for PG admissions 2025; additional test for MBA, sports quota

NEW DELHI: University of Allahabad has introduced minor changes in the eligibility criteria for admission to postgraduate courses for the academic year 2025-26. Additional test for MBA students, fitness test for sports quota, and renaming of a MSc course are among the few changes. Allahabad University will be conducting the Postgraduate Admission Test (PGAT 2025) for PG admissions.

The university announced that the registration process for PGAT will begin tomorrow, April 25, through, aupravesh2025.cbtexam.in. The last date to fill the application form online is May 16.

“The conventional PG courses will be available through PGAT-I while non-conventional PG courses will be available through PGAT-II. The university will administer PGAT-I test in both online as well as offline mode, while PGAT-Il test will be offered through online mode,” the university said.

General, EWS, and OBC category candidates applying for PGAT 1 will have to pay Rs 1,000 as registration fees and SC, ST, PwD will have to pay Rs 500. For PGAT-II, the application fee is Rs 1,600, however, reserved category candidates will have to pay Rs 800 only.

Allahabad University PG Admissions 2025: 5 changes

University of Allahabad has introduced minor changes in the selection criteria for PG courses.

  • Students applying for MBA programmes will have to take an additional test conducted by the respective department.
  • For those applying under the sports quota, a mandatory fitness test will be held -
  • 50m sprint, 1000m running, over head ball throw, and standing broad jump. “If found unsatisfactory in terms of fitness parameters, the candidature through Sports Quota Admission would NOT be considered.
  • The eligibility for MSc Applied Geology and MSc Materials Science has been modified.
  • MSc Agriculture Zoology and Entomology has been renamed to MSc Agricultural Entomology.
