NEW DELHI, JULY 12: Amity University, Noida, organized a lecture by Prof. Andrew Griffiths of the University of Queensland, Australia, on various aspects of practical sustainability with respect to adaptation and resilience to climate change at the event held at the university campus in Noida.

Being the executive dean of faculty of business, economics and law, Prof. Griffiths highlighted that the industry sectors located in climate-sensitive areas, dependent on climate-sensitive inputs or with long-lived capital assets are highly affected.

“If we continue to do businesses as we are doing it today, using the resources in a similar manner, then in coming years the global temperature is likely to rise about 4 degrees. Thereby, causing an unfavourable change in the climatic condition of the world,” warned Prof. Griffiths during his lecture.

He stated that the need of the hour is to maintain sustainable development by following the triple bottom line i.e ecological, economic and social sustainability. He called upon the budding business professionals, leaders and educators to come up with new innovative ideas along with agile and efficient mindset.

The lecture was part of the ongoing International lecture series at Amity University, Noida.
