Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University registration ends on July 15 for PhD programme
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University Admission: Students who have qualified in NET, GATE are exempted from the written test.

NEW DELHI: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University will close the registration window for its phase 1 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme on July 15, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can fill out the application form for the phase 1 PhD programme online through the official website at amrita.edu/admissions/doctoral/ or by emailing phd@amrita.edu.
To be eligible for the programme, candidates should have a minimum of 60% in their postgraduate degrees. The selection process for the PhD pragramme includes a written test and an interview evaluation. As per the institute, candidates who have qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) are exempted from the written test and are eligible for a direct interview.
The university provides diverse research opportunities across domains like engineering, artificial intelligence, computing, arts, humanities, commerce, physical sciences, social and behavioural sciences, management, life sciences, and medical sciences.
Scholarship
According to the official press release, the university offers scholarships to PhD students, including annual awards of over 7 crores in scholarships exclusively to PhD scholars, which include monthly guaranteed scholarships up to Rs 35,000 per month for all full-time scholars for the first 3 years.
In addition to these scholarships, scholars receive financial support for attending conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. They also benefit from access to cost-free experimentation facilities across all research labs at the university.

“The program provides opportunities to address global challenges, collaborate with international experts in academia and industry, and receive significant support through stipends and research activities, amounting to 25 lakhs during their enrolment,” the official press release read.
Collaboration
As per the press release, the institution has established collaborations with international universities such as the University of Buffalo, New York; University of New Mexico; Vrije University, Amsterdam; University of L'Aquila (Italy); and BarcelonaTech (UPC), Politecnico Di Milano, Italy, among others. These partnerships offer avenues for academic growth and collaboration, including dual-PhD programmes, cotutelle degrees, and integrated PhD programmes.
