Andhra Pradesh schools will follow a half-day schedule for Classes 1 to 9 students from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

NEW DELHI: The Andhra Pradesh government has changed the school timing from Classes 1 to 9 with effect from today, April 4, 2022, owing to the heatwave in the state. Andhra Pradesh schools will follow a half-day schedule for Classes 1 to 9 students from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Offline classes will continue with a full-day schedule for students studying in Classes 10, 11, and 12 with a full-day schedule.
According to various media reports, the decision has been taken following the requests from parents and students’ unions to education minister Audimulapu Suresh. Mid-day meals will be provided to students immediately after the commencement of the classes, at 11:30 am.

Recently, the Telangana state has also reduced the school timing by scheduling the classes from 8:00 am to 11:30 am due to the heatwave situation predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In Telangana schools too, mid-day meals will be served to the students before 11:30 am.
