Start NowNEW DELHI: Anna University, in compliance with guidelines issued by the Tamil Nadu government, has decided to reopen colleges and universities for art, science, technology and engineering and agriculture from September 1. The colleges will reopen for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The offline classes for engineering, technology and architecture students will resume on September 1 as per the directions of the Vice Chancellor. Classes will be held on alternate days and at any given point in time, colleges cannot have more than 50 percent attendance on campus. Hostels can also function by maintaining proper COVID-19 protocols .
All deans and principals of affiliated, regional and constituent colleges have been requested to resume colleges and universities from September 1 and adhere strictly to the standard operating procedure (SOP).
As per the official notice for resuming offline classes on campus, the colleges have to follow the schedule given below.

Three year undergraduate and postgraduate courses and Diploma courses such as BA, BCom, BL, BBA, MCA |

Four year postgraduate courses such as MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, ME, ML, (agri) MVSc |

Four year courses such as BE, Btech, MTech and BSc (agri) |

Anna University News: Colleges reopen as per SOP Guidelines
The notice says: “All colleges and universities will be permitted to conduct classes on rotation basis with effect from 1.9.2021 by following the standard operating procedures throughout the state except in containment zones”.
As per the notice, the SOP lays out generic guidelines for reopening of colleges. It says: “This SOP outlines various generic precautionary measures to be adopted in addition to specific measures to be taken while reopening all higher educational institutions, colleges and hostels to prevent the spread of COVID- 19.”
The institutes are also supposed to follow the COVID-19-related guidelines issued by the ministry of home affairs and ministry of health and family welfare.
