ANRF Fellowship and Grants 2026: Application portal for JC Bose Grant closes on February 10 and National Postdoctoral Fellowship on February 17.

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has announced the timeline for applications across major research grants and fellowship schemes to be rolled out during the year 2026. The registration for the newly launched JC Bose Grant and Ramanujan Fellowship has already begun for researchers.
ANRF, established in 2023, acts as an apex body to provide high-level strategic direction for scientific research in the country as per recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
Participants holding at least a professor-level position or equivalent at an Indian institution, senior Indian scientists or researchers with a proven track record or excellence will be eligible for JC Bose Grant, launched in February 2025.
An annual research funding of Rs 25 lakh for a duration of five years, in addition to an annual overhead of Rs 1 lakh will be provided to the implementing institution. This grant can be availed until the age of 68. The last date to apply for JC Bose Grant is February 10.

ANRF-National Post Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) is for applicants who have completed PhD, MD, MS degree from a recognized academic institutions, national laboratories and other recognized R&D institutions. The upper age limit for this fellowship is 35 years, and a 5-year age-relaxation will be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, physically challenged, and women candidates.
Applications for N-PDF can be submitted from January 15 to February 17.
Meanwhile, registrations for Ramanujan Fellowship meant for Indian and Indian origin scientists and engineers from outside the country to take up scientific research positions in India will be open throughout the year.
Under the Ramanujan Fellowship, researchers will receive Rs 1,35,000 per month for a duration of five years. In addition, each fellow will receive a research grant of Rs 7 lakh per annum for consumables, travel, research personnel and contingencies etc. and Rs 60,000 per annum as overhead charges.

The ANRF will provide nine fellowships and grant programmes for various domains, with application calls scheduled throughout the year.
