NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 30, 2018 : Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is conducting APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2018 prelims exam on December 30. The exam is being held offline in two shifts - 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm. APSC CCE prelims is being conducted in 122 exam centres across 31 cities of Assam.
It was mandatory for candidates to carry a copy of the admit card. Candidates were also required to carry any one of PAN card, Driving license, Voter ID card, Bank passbook, ID card issued by educational institution/ Government as photo-identity proof.
As per APSC officials, total 60,275 candidates have been deemed eligible to appear for the exam. Of the total candidates, 34,003 are male and 26,272 are female candidates.
APSC prelims exam consists of two papers – I and II. Paper I contains questions from General Studies while Paper II is held for 28 subjects wherein the candidates have to take the test for only one paper, as per their educational background. Both papers comprise 200 marks and candidates have been allotted 2 hours to complete each paper.
After APSC CCE prelims exam has been conducted, Assam Public Service Commission will publish the set-wise answer key of the exam. The answer key will be released within a few days after the conclusion of exam. The answer key will be published online in the PDF format containing correct answers to questions asked in the exam.
APSC result of prelims exam is expected to be declared in January 2019. The result will be declared online in the form of a PDF file containing the roll numbers of the candidates selected for the next stage of recruitment process.
APSC CCE prelims is being held to shortlist candidates for the mains exam. The Commission has announced 261 vacancies which will be filled based on candidates’ performance in the mains written exam and interview. Candidates securing the minimum cut off in the mains and interview will be recruited to various posts including Assam Civil Service (Junior Grade), Assam Land and Revenue Service (Junior Grade), Assam Police Service (Junior Grade), Labour Inspector, Superintendent of Excise, Inspector of Taxes, etc.
