Ashoka University: All Young India Fellows in Class of 2025-26 to have scholarships; apply by March 10

NEW DELHI: Ashoka University has invited applications for its second round of Young India Fellowship (YIF) Class of 2025-26. Candidates can apply for the fellowship through its official website at apply.ashoka.edu.in before March 10.

The YIF Class of 2025 offers a one year residential postgraduate diploma in liberal studies where the university will train 100 students from across the nation for leadership roles.

For the first time, the Ashoka University will offer scholarships to all its fellows, with a 25% to 100% waiver on tuition, residence, and meals along with a stipend, official website of the university said.

The objective for the YIF is to “nurture individuals to address the most pertinent problems to create a better world,” the university said. Around 100 students will be engaged in exploring diverse fields, interdisciplinary learnings, and real-world problems. The students will be guided by “renowned individuals from all walks of life,” it added.

Ashoka University YIF: Eligibility rules

Candidates with bachelors degree in any discipline earned by July 2025 or earlier are eligible to apply. There is no age limit to apply for the fellowship.

“The programme aims at training students to ‘how to think’ instead of ‘what to think’. The YIF fellow will have to study 20 courses during the programme, taught by distinguished academics and domain experts, including in areas such as data, statistics, public policy, international relations, economics, philosophy, psychology, communication, design thinking, art appreciation and gender studies,” the university said.

Under the Experiential Learning Module (ELM), candidates will work in groups on real-world projects. They will be part of a writing programme, which will be aimed at reading, and thinking skills.

K Vijay Raghavan, former principal scientific advisor to the prime minister; Arun Kumar Singh, former ambassador to the United States; Sanjeev Bikchandani, founder of naukri.com and co-founder, Ashoka University; Rudrangshu Mukherjee, chancellor of Ashoka University; and Pramath Raj Sinha, founding dean of ISB Hyderabad will be guiding the students during the fellowship.
