Ashoka University Placements 2024: Highest salary at Rs 35 lakh; consulting top recruiting sector

Ashoka University students received average salary package of Rs 10.7 lakh. Mckinsey & Company, Ernst & Young, Deloitte among recruiters.

NEW DELHI: The highest salary package received by Ashoka University university students in the 2024 placements stands at Rs 35 lakh while the average package has been recorded at Rs 10.7 lakh. Of the total students placed; about 47 percent had received financial aid to pursue their degrees from the university.

About 355 students opted for on-campus placement this year, including those in three-year undergraduate programmes, Ashoka Scholar’s Programme (fourth year), Young India Fellowship and post-graduate programme.

The consulting sector emerged as the top one by offering about 18% offers followed by edtech or education (16%), BFSI (15%), development (14%), media and advertising (9%), FMCG and consumer goods (7%), among others. Notably, Rs 20 lakh was offered as the highest package in the development sector.

Some of the recruiters which participated in the placement drive are Mckinsey & Company, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Accenture, Genpact, Flipkart, HSBC, Pidilite, Marico, TATA AIG, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Adobe and Michael Page.

Speaking about preparing students for placements, Priyanka Chandhok, vice president, Career Development Office at Ashoka University said, “To ensure a successful transition from campus to workplace, the university’s Career Preparatory Programme has ensured that students are provided with the right tools. This includes tailored boot camps for specific career paths, industry-specific sessions, personalised support on resumes and mock interviews, among other interventions. We also have a robust internship programme to ensure that students have an early exposure for a life beyond the campus.”
