Assam Govt issues advisory for UG admission 2023; first merit list today

NEW DELHI: The Assam director of higher education has directed state universities under Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University and Bodoland University offering undergraduate (UG) to publish the first merit list on July 11 on their respective official websites. The URL of the merit list notice has to be mandatorily updated in the samarth portal, assamadmission.samarth.ac.in, the official statement said.
The Assam education department has issued the admission advisory for UG admission dated on July 10 addressing all state universities and colleges offering four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP).
It reiterated that only those applicants who have registered and completed application form submission through Assam admission portal , assamadmission.samarth.ac.in, and who have selected at least one programme will be eligible for Assam UG admission 2023.
It said that no candidates who are selected will be denied admission provided they produce the required documents. “Admission can be simultaneously conducted for different programmes for which necessary programme users credentials have been shared with the colleges/universities,” it said.
As per the advisory, there will be no waitlist for admission, instead the remaining vacant seats after the first round will be made available for candidates participating in the second round.
It instructed the universities to upload the Assam UG admission 2023 2nd merit list on July 15 and the third merit list on July 20. In case seats remain unfilled after the third round, the left-over seats will be open for ‘spot admission’.
The spot admission process will be held on July 23 and 24. “Any applicant who did not apply during the application period from June 14 to July 3, 2023 will get an option to apply afresh in one or 10 programmes. However, only programmes or institutions with vacant seats will be reflected during the spot admission application drive from July 20, to 22.
Family income certificate will have to be submitted for grant of admission under fee waiver scheme, it said.
