Assam UG admission 2023 begins; 1% registered students opt for government college so far
84% applicants who opted govt-aided universities have paid the fees, while govt colleges received fee from a mere 1%. Registration link at Assam Samarth portal.

NEW DELHI: The Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu today said that the application for admission into colleges and universities of the state is ongoing. The integrated portal, assamadmission.samarth.ac.in, for higher education departments for UG admissions 2023-24 was launched yesterday by the state minister.
Samarth eGov is an initiative of the ministry of education with an “aim to enable the universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework for planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and other stakeholders”.
Candidates will be able to start submitting their Assam UG admission application form through SAMARTH from June 14 and the registration window will close on June 28. Students can opt for 10 options of UG programmes in colleges, university in the application.

The Assam SAMARTH portal also has the details of the participating colleges in the state and the courses offered.
As per the data shared by the education minister, 84% of the applicants who opted government-aided universities have paid the fees, while the government college received payment from a mere 1%. A total of 9,029 students have completed the application process so far.
Gauhati University received the highest number of applications, as per the university-wise data shared by the minister. Of which, 2,500 applicants have not paid fees, while 1,200 students have made the payment. The highest number of UG admission applications was received from Kamrup Metro.
