BCI postpones 18th qualifying exam for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees

Bar Council of India (BCI) qualifying examination for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees has been rescheduled to be held from December 19 to 24.
NEW DELHI: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has rescheduled the qualifying exam for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees. The BCI 18th exam for foreign law degree holders will now be conducted from December 19 to 24, 2022.
Earlier, the council announced that it would hold the exam from December 5 to 10. However, the latest notice by the BCI read, “The 18th Bar Council of India qualifying examination for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees has been rescheduled to be held from December 19 to December 24, 2022, in the premises of the Bar Council of India at 21, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, New Delhi.”
The Bar Council of India has also announced the syllabus for Qualifying Examination for Indian Nationals Holding Foreign Law Degrees on the official website, barcouncilofindia.org. As per the announcement, the exam will have six papers.
- Paper 1 – Constitution
- Paper 2 – Contract Law and Negotiable Instruments Act
- Paper 3 – Company Law
- Paper 4 – Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act
- Paper 5 – Criminal Procedure Code
- Paper 6 – Indian Legal Profession and Code of Ethics.
