Bhopal district administrations bans use of e-rickshaws to transport schoolchildren

E-rickshaws are unsafe for transporting schoolchildren, and their use for this purpose is banned to ensure student safety, the order by district collector Kaushalendra Singh stated.

NEW DELHI: The Bhopal district administration has banned the use of e-rickshaws to ferry schoolchildren due to safety concerns, an official said on Sunday. "E-rickshaws are unsafe vehicles for transporting school children. Ensuring the safety of young students is a matter of utmost importance. Therefore, the transportation of schoolchildren via e-rickshaws is prohibited," the order issued by District Collector Kaushalendra Singh said.

The order warned that schools found violating the directive would face action. An official said the decision was taken unanimously in a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee.
