Pharmacy graduates are seeking inclusion in state govt's recruitment process, while driver recruitment candidates want over 1,100 posts reserved for women to be allocated to eligible male candidates.

Police on Friday detained several B Pharm degree holders and candidates for Bihar Police driver recruitment who had gathered at Gandhi Maidan here to press for their respective demands. The B Pharm graduates are seeking inclusion in the state government's pharmacist recruitment process, while the driver recruitment candidates want over 1,100 vacant posts reserved for women to be allocated to eligible male candidates.
Before the proposed march could begin, police detained several protesters and took them away in police vehicles. Some protesters were also chased by the police, witnesses said. However, Gandhi Maidan police rejected the claim. "Some people had assembled here to protest illegally. They did not have permission to protest. We detained several individuals, though the exact number is not clear yet," Gandhi Maidan SHO Akhilesh Kumar Mishra said.
