UP Board 10th and 12th results announced; overall pass percentage dips

NEW DELHI, APRIL 29: Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has declared the results of both Class 10 and 12, this year, the overall pass percentage for class 10 dipped from 81.2 in 2017 to 75.2 in 2018. Similarly in Class 12, the overall pass percentage declined from 82.6 in 2017 to 72.4 in 2018.

However, girls have outshone boys in Class 10 and 12 examination. Students who have appeared for the examination have to check their UP Board result online by entering their year of exam, roll number and security code.

The pass percentage among girls is 78.8 while it is 78.8 among boys in Class 10 examination. The pass percentage among girls in class 12 examination is 78.4 % while it is 67.4 % among boys.

Allahabad’s Anjali Verma bagged the first position while Fatehpur’s Yashashvi secured second position. The third position is shared by Vinay Kumar and Sani Verma in UP Board high school examination.

Rajneesh Shukla from Fatehpur and Akash Maurya from Barabanki secured the first position by securing 93.2%. Ananya Rai from Ghazipur bagged the second position by securing 92.6%.  Abhishek Kumar from Moradabad and Ajeet Patel from Barabanki bagged third position by securing 92.2%.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath through his tweet congratulated all the students who passed and secured top position in the high school and intermediate examination. He will felicitate top 10 students in the merit list.

UP CM said, “I want to congratulate everyone who has passed in Class 10 and 12 examinations. This time the exams were held without any complaints of cheating. Top 10 students in the merit list will be feliciated.”

Reportedly, a total of 66.37 lakh students registered for the UP board exam.  Of which, 36,55,691 appeared for class 10 while 29,81,327 students for class 12 exams. However, on the first day of the examination, over 53,100 high school students remained absent. UP Board 10th and 12th examination was conducted simultaneously. The class 10 examination was conducted from February 6 to 22, 2018. The class 12 examination was held from  February 6 to March 12, 2018.

Students can also access their UP Board Result 2018 via SMS. For this, they need to type UP10<space>ROLLNUMBER for class 10 and UP12<space>ROLLNUMBER for class 12 and send it to 56263.

This year, UPMSP will release the answer copies of toppers. The scanned copies of answer scripts will be available online at the official website.

Students can download their provisional marksheet. Original mark statement and pass certificate will be issued to students soon. The dates of compartment examination will be announced by the exam conducting authority.
