NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced major changes for the upcoming BPSC 68th combined competitive exam prelims 2023. The commission has reduced questions in Mains optional paper and announced a negative marking scheme in all questions for prelims exam.

The BPSC has also extended the last date to apply for BPSC 68th prelims exam 2023. Candidates who missed the deadline will be able to apply for the exam till December 30 at bpsc.bih.nic.in.

As per the changes announced, the BPSC 68th mains exam will have 100 questions in optional paper instead of 300. Additionally, BPSC Mains 2023 will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Earlier, the BPSC 68th prelims exam had negative marking for a selected number of questions. “For example, if 50 out of 150 questions i.e. l/3 questions are selected for negative marking, then l/3 questions from each section shall be selected. Such selected questions should have 2 marks for correct answer and l/2 for wrong answer.”

However, now the negative marking will be uniformly distributed on all the 150 questions. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
