BPSC 70th CCE result 2025 likely today; paper leak, court case, action against candidates, story so far

NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 70th result 2024 is expected to be declared today, January 23. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check the BPSC result 2024 on the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

Recently, the commission junked a news report claiming that the high court has asked to delay the BPSC 70th CCE results. “The news has been completely misleading and false. The Honorable High Court has neither imposed any stay on the results nor dealt a blow to the commission. In fact, despite the petitioner's demand, the Honorable High Court has refused to intervene in the publication of the results for the Integrated 70th Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination. Therefore, this news is entirely misleading and untrue,” the commission stated.

BPSC also refuted claims of a candidate that the commission uploaded another candidate’s OMR sheet. “My name is Prabhakar Kumar, and my roll number is 369464. When I downloaded the BPSC OMR today, I found that instead of my OMR sheet, BPSC uploaded the OMR of another student. BPSC is doing this in a hurry to quickly process the seats they have sold,” a candidate said in a post on X.

Debunking the claims, the commission said, “The news is completely false and misleading. Upon investigation, it was found that Prabhakar Kumar (Roll No. 369464) attempted to spread confusion by uploading the OMR sheet of another candidate, Raju Kumar (Roll No. 104881), instead of his own. Action is being taken against him.”

BPSC 70th CCE answer key 2024 was issued on January 19 and candidates were allowed to raise objections against the provisional key by January 21.

BPSC exam controversy

Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vowed to take the issue of BPSC paper leak in the Parliament. Earlier, the commission issued legal notices to "a number of individuals, including politicians" who have levelled "baseless" allegations against it on the exam row.

The Supreme Court had refused to examine a plea over the alleged irregularities in the BPSC exam and the consequent police action on protestors. A bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and K V Viswanathan asked the petitioner to move the Patna High Court with the grievances.

Over four lakh candidates had appeared for the BPSC 70th CCE Prelims exam at more than 900 centres across the state, when hundreds boycotted the test alleging that question papers had been leaked.

The commission denied the allegations, refusing to cancel the test, but ordered re-exam for more than 12,000 candidates who had been assigned Bapu Pariksha Parisar in the city. Controversy erupted after the BPSC introduced a new exam pattern for the 70th CCE and announced to hold the exam in multiple shifts. Opposing the changes, several aspirants staged protests demanding for a single day exam.
