BPSC special school teacher recruitment exam 2025 registration begins; apply by July 28

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has opened the registration window for the special school teacher recruitment exam 2025. Eligible candidates can register for the recruitment exam through the official website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in. The last date to register for the exam is July 28.

The recruitment drive seeks to fill 7,279 vacancies for the post of special school teacher. Of these, 5,534 posts are reserved for the primary level, covering Classes 1 to 5, while 1,745 posts are allotted to the upper primary level, which includes Classes 6 to 8. The minimum age for all categories of special school teachers is 18 years as of August 1, 2025. The upper age limit varies by category.

The application fee for the BPSC special school teacher recruitment exam 2025 differs by category. General or unreserved category candidates are required to pay Rs 750 as the application fee. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) from Bihar will have to pay Rs 200.

The same amount is applicable to all female candidates domiciled in Bihar. Persons with Disabilities with 40 per cent or more disability also need to pay Rs 200. Along with the application fee, candidates will also have to pay an additional fee of Rs 200 as the biometric charge.

Bihar Special Teacher Exam 2025: Educational qualifications

The education qualifications for both the primary level and upper primary level groups of the Bihar Special Teacher recruitment exam 2025 are given below.

For Primary Level (Class 1 to 5):

  • Candidates should have passed higher secondary or an equivalent examination with at least 50 per cent marks.
  • Should have a Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) in special education from an institute recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), along with a valid CRR number issued by RCI. OR
  • A certificate or diploma in special education equivalent to DElEd from an RCI-recognised institute, with a valid CRR number.
  • Candidates should have completed six months of training in cross-disability teaching.

For Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8):

  • Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50 per cent marks.
  • Should have a BEd in special education from an RCI-recognised institute, along with a valid CRR number issued by RCI. OR
  • A certificate or diploma in special education equivalent to BEd from an RCI-recognised institute, with a valid CRR number.
  • Candidates should have completed six months of training in cross-disability teaching.
