CA May Exam 2024: ICAI to debar all students found using unfair means for 5 years

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) has warned students taking CA exams that stringent actions will be taken against those found to be involved in using unfair means to qualify the exam. Candidates who are caught using unfair means such as cheating, using notes, impersonation will be debarred for 5 years.

The institute postponed the CA Final and CA Intermediate exams 2024 to avoid clash with the general elections 2024. It conducted both CA Intermediate, Final exams, and International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) in May. The CA Foundation exams 2024 are scheduled to begin on June 20 and will be held on June 22, 24, 26 as well.

In a latest circular, the ICAI said: “As per the policy of Examination Department of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, among others, possession of Mobile Phone or any other electronic device / gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre during Chartered Accountants Examinations.”

The institute reiterated the guidelines as it observed that examinees were found in the physical possession of the mobile phone and had some Telegram group, WhatsApp group, and other channels of communication. All the mobile phones were confiscated, and reports were taken from the examination centre, it said.

“The Examination Committee of the Institute, has taken a serious view of above and decided to debar all such candidates, who were involved in tarnishing the image of the Institute by taking mobile phones inside the examination hall, for the next 5 years from appearing in the Chartered Accountants Examinations,” the ICAI said.

In this regard, the ICAI urged all students appearing in the upcoming examinations to read the instructions in CA admit card 2024 and strictly follow them on the exam date.

The ICAI CA Foundation admit card 2024 has been made available on the official website, icai.org. Students who have registered for the exam should enter the login credentials to download the hall ticket. CA admit card 2024 should be mandatorily carried to the exam hall for verification purpose.
