The CA new syllabus was framed by the Board of Studies (ICAI BOS). The CA Foundation exam based on the new CA scheme will be held in June 2024 and the CA intermediate exam will be held in May 2024.
The ICAI notified the new CA scheme on June 23. As per which, candidates should complete an advanced integrated course on information technology (IT) and soft skills during the last two years of practical training. In addition, they will have to qualify self-paced online modules with a minimum of 50% marks in each module.
The new syllabus for chartered accountancy will include Indian constitution, philosophy, and psychology. At present there are more than 3.5 lakh Chartered Accountants in the country. Of the total, women constitute about 42% of the CAs who qualify the exam.
“I am sure that all of you will discharge your responsibilities well and the business of Chartered Accountancy will be seen as a 'Pillar of Economic Governance',” the President said during her speech.
