CAT 2022 Registration: Common mistakes to avoid while filling CAT form

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, has begun the CAT 2022 registration from yesterday, August 3. Candidates can apply for IIM CAT exam 2022 online at the official website - iimcat.ac.in. September 14 is the last date for CAT registration 2022. CAT exam for MBA is scheduled to be held on November 27 this year. CAT 2022 will be held in three sessions as a computer based test.

Candidates belonging to General category must have 50% marks and reserved category candidates must have 45% in Bachelor's degree to be eligible to apply for CAT 2022. Candidates applying for this MBA entrance exam are advised to check the CAT exam eligibility criteria before processing CAT 2022 registration.

CAT registration 2022 is the first and crucial step. It is important to fill out these details correctly to create CAT 2022 login. Though the CAT application 2022 window is likely to open after the closing of registration window, candidates are suggested to fill the CAT form carefully. Only a few details will be allowed to edit via CAT 2022 correction window. Here are some common mistakes to avoid during the CAT exam registration.

• Don’t use mobile phones to apply. Though CAT 2022 registration can be done using mobile, the chances of doing errors while filling the form over phones are high

• Do not use the browser and its version other than as recommended in the instructions

• Fill the CAT registration form carefully to create login as you won't be able to make changes in these later. Valid email id and mobile number should be used and these should remain active for an year at least, till the MBA admission process completes.

• Don’t use ‘0’ or ‘+’ before mobile number as No SMS will be sent to the numbers prefixed with these

• Do not use anything in code box of mobile number, if you choose country as India; provide only 10 digit unique mobile number that you will retail throughout the admission process

• The documents format should in JPEG format and the size should not be more than 80KB each

• Use the name and DOB as provided on the 10th mark sheet

• Upload the scanned image of your signature within the dimensions of 80mm X 35mm

• Use a recent photograph with white background and keep a few more copies of it as the same photo will need to be pasted on admit card on exam day

• The photo should be in the dimensions of 1200 pixels x 1200 pixels

• Do not use part time/internship work experience as it will be counted as zero experience

• Never submit before rechecking the details provided

• Do not forget to check the agree box and enter captcha

• Category docs should be scanned as pdf

CAT 2022 exam will be of 2 hours, questions will be asked from 3 sections viz. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Quantitative Ability (QA). There is a time limit of 40 minutes for each section. CAT score is prerequisite for admission to PGP in management of IIMs and other top B-schools such as FMS (DU), ISB, DMS (IIT D), SRM University, Chennai, IIT Mumbai, SPJIMR, GIM Goa, Great Lakes, FORE, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI, MICA, etc.
