As per IIM Shilling, after step 1, composite scores will be calculated for eligible candidates based on two components: total CAT percentile (65% weightage) and the Normalized Application Rating Score (NARS, 35% weightage). NARS is determined using the Application Rating Score (ARS), which is derived by adding scores assigned to Class 10 percentages (A), Class 12 percentages (B), and months of work experience (C):
Application Rating Score (ARS) = A + B + C
To calculate NARS, IIM Shillong divides the individual ARS of a candidate by the average of the top 50 ARS scores from the entire pool of applicants who appeared for CAT 2024 and applied to IIM Shillong.
The IIM Shillong final selection process considers several parameters such as CAT 2024 score, PI, ARS and gender scores. The table below details the weightage assigned to each parameter:
Parameter | Weight (%) |
Application rating score | 10 |
Gender | 10 |
Personal Interview (PI) | 40 |
