CAT 2026 application process begins at iimcat.ac.in; MBA entrance exam on November 29

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Indore have commenced the registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 today, August 3, at 10 am. Eligible candidates can submit the CAT application form 2026 through the official website, iimcat.ac.in. As per the CAT registration timeline 2026, the application form can be submitted till September 15, 5 pm.

The CAT 2026 registration fee has been fixed at Rs 2,700 for general, EWS and NC-OBC candidates, while SC, ST and PwBD candidates will have to pay Rs 1,350. The fee has to be paid only once, irrespective of the number of IIM programmes selected. It is non-refundable.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates). Final-year undergraduate students and candidates awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the admission requirements of the participating IIMs.

During registration , applicants will have to select five preferred test cities. One city will be allotted based on availability. If none of the preferred cities are available, candidates will be assigned a nearby test city.
CAT 2026 Application Form: Steps to fill
The CAT 2026 registration process includes six sections — personal details, academics, work experience, programmes, test city, and declaration.
- Visit the official CAT website, iimcat.ac.in.
- Click on 'New Candidate Registration' and register using your name, email ID and mobile number.
- Verify the OTP sent to your registered email ID and mobile number to generate your user ID and password.
- Log in using the generated credentials and click 'Go to Application'.
- Fill in the personal details section and upload the required photograph, signature and category certificates, if applicable.
- Enter your academic details from Class 10 onwards, including bachelor's degree and professional qualifications, if applicable.
- Provide your work experience details, if any, and select the IIM programmes you wish to apply for.
- Choose five preferred test cities from the available list.
- Preview the CAT application form 2026 carefully, accept the declaration, pay the application fee online, and submit the form.
Applicants may save the CAT application form 2026 and complete it later before the final submission. However, no changes will be permitted once the CAT application fee has been paid and the form submitted.

CAT Application Form 2026: Documents and details required
Before starting the CAT 2026 application process, candidates should keep the following ready:
- A valid and unique email address and mobile number
- Passport-sized photograph (taken within the last six months, with a white background)
- Scanned signature
- Academic details starting from Class 10
- Category and PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) certificates (if applicable)
- Work experience details (if any)
The CAT 2026 examination will be conducted as a computer-based test in three sessions across approximately 170 test cities on November 29, 2026. Admit cards for the CAT exam can be downloaded starting November 4. It is expected that the CAT 2026 exam results will be released in the first week of January 2027 and that the scores will be valid until December 31, 2027.
