CAT exam 2021: Application form to release soon; know what's new in IIM CAT 2021

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has launched the CAT 2021 official website and released the exam dates on July 31. All the aspiring candidates can start filling the CAT registration form 2021 from August 4. CAT 2021 application form will be available online at iimcat.ac.in.
What is CAT exam
CAT full form is the Common Admission Test (CAT) which will be conducted on November 28 as a computer-based test. The exam will be set as per CAT 2021 pattern, where 76 questions are expected to be asked from three sections - Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude as per the CAT notification .

What’s new in CAT 2021?
CAT 2021 test centres increased
In wake of COVID, IIM Ahmedabad has increased the total number of CAT test cities to 158. Last year, the CAT exam was conducted in 156 cities across the nation. At the time of filling the CAT 2021 application form, candidates will be required to choose 6 CAT 2021 test cities as per their preference.
CAT 2021: Application fee increased
This year, IIM Ahmedabad has also increased the CAT exam registration fee for candidates belonging to the general and reserved categories. Candidates have to pay the application fee online to complete the registration process of CAT 2021.

In the official CAT exam notification, Prof M P Ram Mohan, Convenor of CAT 2021 says, "The preparations and the conduct of the exam are being done with continued COVID-19 uncertainty. The information provided by the CAT website is contingent upon the decisions and directions issued from time to time by the Central & State governments, and IIMs. Candidates are advised to regularly check the CAT website for the latest information.
CAT 2021: How to get admission into IIMs
Candidates applying for IIM admission must first appear for the Common Aptitude Test commonly known as the CAT exam. After the declaration of the CAT result, candidates can individually apply for admission to IIMs as per their preference and also on the basis of the CAT cut off score.
On clearing the minimum CAT exam 2021 cutoff released by the respective IIMs, the shortlisted candidates will be invited for Written Test/Group Discussion and Personal Interview (PI).
The final selection for IIM admission will be based on the candidate's CAT 2021 score, performance in WAT/GD/ and PI, past academic performance and work experience.
