NEW DELHI: India Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore will conduct the CAT 2022 exam on November 27. It has already issued the CAT admit card for registered candidates at the CAT official website, iimcat.ac.in. Common Admission Test, CAT will be a CBT test that will evaluate candidates' verbal, logical, analytical ability and reading comprehension skills. Here are some simple tips to self prepare for the CAT exam, these will help crack this MBA entrance exam with a good score.

Though there is no CAT syllabus defined by the IIM Bangalore, candidates can decode it by analyzing the CAT previous year paper. Not only the topics of the CAT exam but also the previous question paper also provide insight into the difficulty level, diversification of questions. The CAT exam pattern also helps in preparation. The CAT paper entails three parts - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Data Interpretation skills.
Candidates must have a good overall score in order to get a call from IIMs or other CAT exam accepting colleges. So it is crucial that they perform well in all sections and for that they need to give proper time for all sections.
As the CAT exam 2022 date is not far away, candidates are advised to focus only on what is most important. They should know what to study and what not to study. CAT mock test can help with that. Here are some simple tips to follow for candidates who are self preparing for CAT exam.
Look at the previous year's CAT question papers to know which topics to study on priority basis
Give a mock CAT mock test. Official mock test will be released soon online. This way, you will know your strengths and weaknesses. Focus on weaker areas
Don’t try to be an expert. Just focus on strengthening the basis/fundamentals of each topics
For the Quant section, more focus on arithmetic, algebra, and geometry as the majority of questions will be asked from these topics
Improve speed and learn short tricks
Solve CAT previous questions and sample paper in a time bound manner for each section and see how much time it takes you to solve a question. Reduce the time to or less than 2 minutes for a question
Give separate test for each section
Read newspaper editorials such the Hindu, Indian Express, Smithsonian, etc.
Do revision of all sections
The Common Admission Test (IIM CAT) will have three sections and for each section there will be 40 minutes. Candidates must answer the questions within the given time. They should answer the easy questions first and then medium difficult questions. Do the difficult questions in the end in order to attempt more questions. As this is a negative marking exam, accuracy should be kept in mind.
