To qualify in the CBSE board exam 2026, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject, including theory, practicals, and internal assessments. Candidates must obtain a minimum Grade D and pass theory and practical components separately in subjects that include practical exams.

The board may grant grace marks to students who miss the passing score by just one mark. As per CBSE rules, grace marks are not provided if the shortfall exceeds one mark. The CBSE Class 10 social science syllabus includes the disciplines of history, geography, political science and economics.

From this year, the board has decided to conduct the Class 10 board exam, twice-a-year . CBSE’s new system is part of reforms aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
