According to the experts, the case study–based questions in Section E were a positive inclusion as they connected mathematical ideas with real-life situations. Such questions encouraged students to interpret information, analyse scenarios, and apply mathematical concepts in context.

The CBSE Class 12th Maths 2026 paper Sections B and C included very short and short-answer questions that examined procedural understanding and clarity of concepts.

The long-answer questions in Section D were moderately challenging and required students to integrate multiple concepts. The topics include matrices, probability, vectors, and three-dimensional geometry.

As per the experts, the multiple-choice questions in Section A were largely concept-based and tested fundamental knowledge across different chapters. Assertion–reason questions need students to apply logical reasoning, which shows the current emphasis on competency-based assessment. 

As per the feedback of Vikram Singh, HOD Mathematics, DPS Sector 45, Gurugram, the Mathematics paper was well-structured and balanced, with most questions based on the NCERT syllabus and prescribed curriculum. Overall, the exam was a fair paper with a good mix of easy, moderate, and application-based questions.

The difficulty level of the paper ranged from moderate to moderately challenging, the length of the paper and certain deviations from the expected pattern made it somewhat demanding for students, according to the Principal, Dr. Alka Kapur, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh.

As per Nishant Kumar Singh, Subject Matter Expert, Seth M.R. Jaipuria Schools, the class 12 Mathematics question paper was well-structured and aligned with the prescribed syllabus and examination pattern. Overall, the paper can be considered balanced and moderately difficult. Students with a clear conceptual understanding and regular practice of NCERT and exemplar problems would have found the paper manageable.

The CBSE class 12 paper 2026 was “balanced,” focusing on testing students’ conceptual understanding and application of mathematical concepts, rather than rote memorisation. The CBSE Class 12 Maths had combinations of easy, moderate, and application-based questions.

The paper is a scoring opportunity for those who have a strong grasp of the NCERT basics problems. MCQs are easy, and case study-based questions are designed to be approachable but require careful reading.

Subject experts and educators are expected to release a detailed analysis of the Class 12 Maths question paper, including insights on difficulty level, important questions, and student feedback.

Following the completion of the exam, coaching institutes and subject experts are expected to publish unofficial answer keys and solved papers.

The Class 12 Mathematics exam is being conducted for a duration of three hours, allowing students to attempt numerical and application-based questions.

Before the exam began, candidates were given a 15-minute reading period to review the Mathematics question paper and understand the structure of the exam.

The Class 12 Mathematics board exam has officially commenced across CBSE examination centres today. Students are now attempting the paper scheduled from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Entry to examination halls for the Class 12 Maths paper closed at 10:00 am, in accordance with CBSE regulations. Candidates arriving after the deadline were not permitted to enter the exam hall.

After the Class 12 Maths exam concludes, coaching institutes and subject experts are expected to release unofficial answer keys and detailed solutions to help students estimate their probable scores.

Students will be given 15 minutes of reading time from 10:15 am to 10:30 am before the Maths exam begins to carefully review the question paper and plan their answers.

The CBSE Class 12 Mathematics exam carries a total of 100 marks, of which 80 marks are allotted to the theory paper and 20 marks are reserved for internal assessment.

Ahead of the Class 12 Maths exam, students are advised to revise important formulas, theorems, and key concepts to solve numerical problems efficiently during the exam.

The CBSE Class 12 Mathematics question paper will consist of 38 questions divided into Sections A to E, including multiple-choice, assertion–reason, very short, short, and long-answer questions with internal choices in some sections.

Students must carry their CBSE Class 12th admit card 2026 to the exam hall. No entry to the exam hall will be allowed without a valid CBSE-issued admit card.

Students need to score at least 33% in each subject, clear the theory and practical components separately where applicable, to pass the CBSE Class 12th exam.

The CBSE board will conduct the CBSE Class 12 Maths exam on March 9 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. As per the CBSE exam timetable 2026, students must reach by 9:30 am; entry will close at 10 am.

Candidates are required to carry their CBSE admit card to the exam centre and must reach the exam centre 30-45 mins before reporting time. A 15-minute reading time will be provided to the students before the paper begins, to review the CBSE question paper carefully.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 12 Mathematics board exam on March 9, 2026. The paper will be held in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at examination centres across the country. Students appearing for the exam should carefully review the syllabus and revise key formulas and concepts before the paper.
