NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 board exam for economics subject today, March 19. The paper was simple and well balanced. According to the students, the CBSE Class 12 economics question paper was moderate in the difficulty level.

The board conducted the Class 12 economics board exam in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The exam was held for three hours where students were given 15 minutes of reading time before the start of the written test.

The CBSE Class 12 economics question paper was held for 80 marks and divided into two sections as follows:

  • Section A: Macro economics
  • Section B: Economic development

As per Narsingh Raghav, PGT commerce, from KIIT World School, Gurgaon, both the sections in the CBSE Class 12 economics board paper were “relatively easy.” The question paper comprised a balanced mix of knowledge, analysis and application-based problems, Raghav added.

He further stated that although the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in the Class 12 economics question paper were easy, it needed thorough reading. “Case based questions were easy and there was no error found in the question paper,” he said.

Explaining the difficulty level of the language in the CBSE Class 12 economics exam, the subject expert said that the language was very easy and “proper reading of the question would make it accessible for the students. The paper was well balanced and could have been solved within stipulated time.”

Furthermore, Shivani, a Class 12 student from VidyaGyan, shared that the CBSE Class 12 economics paper was well-structured and not lengthy, giving her enough time to attempt all questions without being in a rush. As per the student, the distribution of the questions in the paper was fair and aligned with the syllabus.

Another Class 12 student, who appeared for the CBSE economics board exam today, Prachi, from VidyaGyan, said: “The numerical questions were direct and manageable. She appreciated that the paper tested conceptual understanding rather than tricky calculations, making it easier for students who had practiced consistently.”
