NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 history paper 2025 was moderately difficult, as per teachers. The board conducted the CBSE Class 12 history exam today in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The CBSE 12th history paper 2025 comprised a total of 34 questions divided into five sections – A, B, C, D, and E. The question paper contained multiple choice questions carrying one mark each, short answer type questions carrying three marks each, long answer type questions carrying eight marks each, source-based questions of four marks each, and map-based question of five marks.

While there was no overall choice in the Class 12 history exam, students were given internal choices in a few questions.

CBSE Class 12 history exam analysis 2025

As per Chinmaya Chauhan, PGT History, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, some of the questions in the history paper were lengthy, however, students who prepared well will score good marks.

“Class 12 history board exam conducted today was well set. It was a mix of easy and moderately difficult questions. Many questions were along expected lines. There were several application-based questions. The section on source-based questions included questions that required students to have an in-depth understanding of the concepts and were a little time-consuming. Students who studied regularly throughout the year, read the NCERT textbooks thoroughly and insisted on conceptual clarity, are sure to come out with flying colours,” the teacher told Careers360.

Another history teacher shared that the CBSE board exam tested the overall knowledge of students. “The Class 12 history paper was as per the syllabus and blueprint, all the important topics were covered in the paper. It had a moderate difficulty level, making it fair for students. The paper included different types of multiple-choice questions like Assertion & Reason, Identification, Match the Column, Odd One Out, and competency-based questions, giving a well-rounded test of knowledge and understanding to the students,” said Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, PGT History, VidyaGyan School, Bulandshahr.
