CBSE’s career awareness programmes will be conducted across five cities, including Guwahati, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Dehradun, and Udaipur.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct a series of career awareness programmes in June and July 2025 for principals and counsellors of affiliated schools. These sessions aim to help schools offer structured guidance to students on career options, higher education, and scholarships.
The career awareness programmes will take place from June 12 to July 26 in five sessions. Each session will take place from 10 am to 2 pm. Participants have been advised to arrive by 9:30 am for pre-programme formalities. The programmes will take place across five cities: Guwahati, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Dehradun and Udaipur.
“To effectively support students in these areas, it is crucial to equip School Principals and counsellors with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide students in identifying their interests and aptitudes and exploring appropriate career options. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasises the importance of strong counselling systems in schools to address the diverse needs of students,” the official notice said.
CBSE has advised principals and counsellors to register using the links provided for each venue. Participation will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation emails will be sent to selected participants. “Travel and accommodation expenses (TA/DA) will be borne by the participants themselves,” the CBSE said.

What the programme seek to achieve?
The programme aims to equip school counsellors with tools and insights that can help them offer more effective guidance to students. Another objective is to expand access to relevant opportunities by sharing information on internships, vocational training programmes, and available scholarships.
The sessions will promote structured career counselling practices that align with the framework laid out in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme also aims to raise awareness among school leaders and counsellors about the range of educational and career opportunities available to students, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate guidance.
