CBSE Board Exams 2027: Registration, LOC submission to begin shortly; schools to verify student details

In a notice dated September 10, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all affiliated schools to prepare for the upcoming registration and List of Candidates (LOC) submission processes for the 2026-27 academic session. Through its latest notice, board said that the registration process for Classes 9 and 11 and LOC submission for Classes 10 and 12 will start shortly.

Emphasising that conducting board exams requires coordinated planning and effort from schools within a limited period, CBSE directed schools to ensure that all student information and subjects offered are correctly entered during the registration and LOC processes. It is to facilitate the smooth conduct of the CBSE board exams 2027 and timely declaration of results.

The Board has asked schools to keep updated student details ready before submitting the data. These include the candidate's full name as recorded in the admission register, date of birth, gender, category and the full names of parents or guardians with correct spellings.

Schools have also been directed to prepare subject-wise registration according to the prescribed scheme of studies. Photographs and signatures of every candidate must be kept ready in the specified format.

CBSE said that all candidate details should be thoroughly checked before submission, warning that errors could lead to complications during the examination process.

CBSE flags recurring errors

The Board highlighted several issues that caused avoidable delays and operational difficulties in past. These include schools entering incorrect subject codes or subjects, errors in student or parent details, non-submission of LOC and failure to submit the LOC within the prescribed timeline. CBSE said that despite repeated reminders, errors continued to occur in the data submitted by schools.

The notice reads, “Despite the fact that schools were reminded several times by CBSE to ensure correct submission of personal data and the subjects offered by the students, there were errors in the data submitted. All such challenges have affected the Board's ability to maintain timelines and ensure efficiency in examination while also leading to undue problems faced by candidates. Thus, all schools are once again requested to ensure that they are prepared with all correct student details before the submission of LOC.”

The notice was issued by Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE. In case of any doubts related to supportive documents, schools can reach out to CBSE regional office.

Following the revised pattern, CBSE will conduct two board exams for Class 10 students and one exam for Class 12 students. The datesheet for exams are expected in December second week.
