Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has said that its re-evaluation portal continues to function smoothly despite facing multiple cyberattack attempts. Latest update shared by the board's cybersecurity teams highlight that the portal is currently supporting more than 8,000 concurrent users. Over 16,000 students had successfully completed and submitted their re-evaluation applications as of June 2, 3 PM.
The board highlighted that while thousands of students were accessing the portal, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a series of cyberattacks. Among the latest incidents was an alleged denial-of-service (DoS) attack that generated nearly 1.5 million hits on the portal within two minutes. The cybersecurity team also detected more than one lakh attempts to gain unauthorised access to files and systems.
CBSE's latest post on platform 'X' reads, "While thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks. Most recent being a denial of service attack attempt causing 1.5 million hits on the portal within a matter of 2 minutes and more than 1 lakh attempts of unauthorised file access."
Despite these attempts, CBSE's technical teams were able to maintain portal operations and ensure that students could continue using the service without major disruption.
The post further reads, "Based on student feedback, we have further refined the platform, including extending session time limits to make the process more convenient and seamless. Our teams remain vigilant and responsive to ensure our dearest students are facilitated in all ways possible."
CBSE said its cybersecurity and technical teams remain on high alert and are continuously monitoring the platform to safeguard student data and ensure uninterrupted access. CBSE opened the verification and re-evaluation portal for Class 12 answer sheets on the official website of CBSE portal at postresult.cbseit.in/pvr today.
Students can submit their application form by following these steps.
