CBSE warns schools against fake notice on observer duties in board exams 2022

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) took to Twitter to warn schools and concerned people against a fake notice in circulation regarding the duties and responsibilities of observers in board exams 2022. The fake notice claiming to be from CBSE said that “the observer shall ensure sealing of unused question papers, preparation of list of late arrived candidates, inspect the rooms, level of invigilation, timely packing of answer books after exam and submit a report to the regional office of Delhi.”

The fake notice went on to say that the unused question papers should be packed immediately after the commencement of examination. No candidate is allowed to enter the exam centre after 11:30am. It also asked the observers to count answer sheets personally, pack and seal in their presence as per guidelines as soon as the exam is over. “The sealed packet of answer sheets must also bear the number of answer sheets packed inside,” it said.

The fake notice directed observers to sign the sealed parcel of answer books. It asked them to visit each room during exams frequently and ensure their presence.

The fake notice further directed observers to send a detailed report on conduct of exams immediately after the conclusion of the examination process along with a copy with TA, DA and a remuneration bill. According to the fake notice, observers will receive a sum of Rs 500 along with conveyance of Rs 200 per day.

Over 35 lakh students will be appearing for CBSE board exams 2022 including 21 lakh in Class 10 and 14 lakh in Class 12 which began from April 26. The Class 10 board exams 2022 will be conducted for 29 days and will be over on May 24, 2022. Whereas, the Class 12 board exams will be conducted for 51 days and will be over on June 15, 2022.
