NEW DELHI: Aspirants wishing to appear for Common Entrance Examination (CEED) this year for admission to various design courses must follow these preparation tips to crack the exam. Candidates must devise an extensive preparation plan for acing this entrance test. According to the CEED exam pattern, the entrance test consists of two parts - Part A and Part B. Aspirants need to prepare an exam strategy as the CEED part A syllabus includes a wide range of topics.

Securing good marks in CEED part A is important as the score is used for shortlisting the candidates. Part B answer booklet is evaluated only for the candidates shortlisted from part A.
Knowing the structure of CEED part A is important to prepare thoroughly for the exam. CEED part A consists of three sections - Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions, Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Candidates will get an hour to complete the CEED question paper part A.
How to prepare for CEED Part A
Here are some of the preparation strategies to crack CEED part A.
Solve CEED previous years’ questions. Practising the previous year's questions will help the candidates understand the format, type of questions, and difficulty level of the CEED part A paper.
Practice numerous puzzles and reasoning questions.
Improve your general awareness. It is necessary to know about the general happenings and their implications on the design. Learn design terminologies, history of art, sculpture, and literature.
Work on observation, design thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Take mock tests to strengthen your preparation. Start taking CEED mock tests at least three months before the exam.
About CEED
CEED is a national level exam conducted by IIT Bombay to offer MDes admission to the aspirants in the CEED participating institute. The entrance exam is conducted once a year in 24 cities across the nation. CEED qualified candidates can gain admission in IIT Bombay, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kanpur, IISc Bangalore and IIITDM Jabalpur.
CEED application form 2022
IIT Bombay will release the CEED 2022 application form along with the official notification in the second week of September. Candidates can register for CEED online by visiting the official website - ceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates who have completed a degree/ diploma/ postgraduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level) can apply for CEED 2022. Aspirants appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam or who have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) are also eligible to appear for the CEED exam.
