Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship 2023 registration for college students begins

CSSS 2023 scholarship application form is hosted on the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in for college and university students.
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that the online application for Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS 2023) for college and university students has begun for the academic year 2023-24. The application for renewal of scholarship is also available on the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.
Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana (PM-USP CSSS) is sponsored by the department of higher education, ministry of education.
“Online application for “Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students” for the year 2023-24, 1st renewal for the year 2022, 2nd renewal for the year 2021, 3rd renewal for the year 2020 and 4th renewal for the year 2019 is available on National Scholarship Portal (http://scholarships.gov.in),” the CBSE Board said.
The last date to apply for fresh and renewal of scholarship is December 31, 2023.
The scholarship was implemented to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from poor families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
The CSSS scholarship 2023 is awarded based on the marks secured by the students in Class 12. “A maximum of 82,000 fresh scholarships per annum are provided for pursuing graduate, postgraduate degree in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as medical, engineering,” the official statement read.
Students have been advised to apply before the deadline and get the online applications verified by the institutions. Failing to get the document verified will result in considering the application invalid, the board said.
“All the Nodal officers of the Institute are requested for timely verification (verify/defect/reject) of the online applications at their institute login,” it added.
