CFA exam dates out for August, November 2024 sessions; know paper pattern

CFA Exam 2024: The registration process for the November session is underway and the last date to register for the November session exam is August 7.
NEW DELHI: The Chartered Financial Institute (CFI) has announced the exam dates for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) levels 1, 2, and 3 exams scheduled for August and November 2024 sessions. The institute administers the CFA exam in four sessions annually, which include February, May, August, and November sessions.
Candidates can check the complete schedule for the CFA exam through the official website, cfainstitute.org. As per the schedule, the level 1, 2 and 3 exams for the August session will be held from August 20 to 26, August 27 to 31, and August 16 to 19 respectively. For the November session, the level 1 exam will take place on November 13 to 19 and level 2 on November 20 to 24.
The standard registration process for the November session is underway and the last date to fill out the application form for the November session exam is August 7. Candidates will have to pay an application fee of USD 1,250 to register for the exam.

CFA Exam 2024: Paper pattern
The CFA exam will be held in three levels including levels 1, 2, 3. For CFA Level 1, the exam will carry 180 multiple-choice questions divided equally between two sessions. Each session lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes, totaling 4.5 hours. The exam is conducted entirely in English, with no negative marking.
The CFA Level 2, exam is conducted three times a year in February, August, and November. It carries 88 questions to be completed in a total of 4 hours and 24 minutes, split into two sessions of 2 hours and 12 minutes each. Questions will be held in English, and each correct answer carries 3 marks.
CFA Level 3 exams are conducted twice annually, in May and August. These exams also include multiple-choice questions, and candidates have 4 hours and 24 minutes to complete them, divided into two sessions of 2 hours and 12 minutes each. For the level 3 exam, each correct answer carries 3 marks.
